Mark was in private practice for more than twenty years before becoming General Counsel to Modell’s Sporting Goods, a billion dollar sporting goods retailer headquartered in New York City.  He has litigated in both state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey. In private practice Mark represented architects, contractors, IT, fashion clients and personal injury damage claims.

Mark was responsible for overseeing construction of the first office/showroom in Trump Tower in NYC, and has managed the construction of warehouses, strip centers, retail stores and office buildouts. During his private practice years, Mark served as an arbitrator in more than one hundred hearings and appeared as the sole expert on an AAA produced video, entitled “Advanced Arbitration Techniques”.

Mark also served as general counsel to Candies® Footwear, an international brand of women’s footwear. He oversaw the branded licensing program for the company, as well as construction of their 30,000 sq ft warehouse and retail stores. At Modell’s, Mark oversaw the brand “Smith’s®” and managed the licensing program for the brand, as well as managing the entire Modell’s trademark portfolio.

Mark was also a principal in Telequest Solutions, a telecommunications company which provided equipment and carrier services. He received technical certifications from Verizon, Qwest, and 3Com for various carrier protocols and IP telephony.

As general counsel at Modell’s, he found himself responsible for the labor/employment issues generated by some 5,000 employees, appearing in a multitude of mediations on behalf of the company. As part of his portfolio, Mark was responsible for procuring the insurance required by the company, and acted to quickly resolve any insurance claims that might arise. He has also negotiated a litany of commercial contracts and employment agreements.

Mark looks forward to assisting you in resolving your dispute, whether it be construction, technology, trademark, employment, or insurance/injury related.
